RD Worldwide Inc.Our search firm has been chosen to recruit for a Sr. Controls Engineer direct hire opportunity in Danville, VA.
Our client was founded in 1997 and offers turn-key automation solutions for various industries to include tire & rubber, pulp & paper, glass, and metals. They provide control systems and application solutions ranging from complete system design and implementation to start up and commissioning.
The role you will play:
Develop PLC programming
Develop code from specifications in multiple control platforms
Design, implement, and commission drive control systems
Develop motion-based machine control solutions meeting customer specifications and all applicable safety standards and functional requirements
Develop HMI and SCADA control solutions meeting customer specifications and functional requirements
Learn and implement new control platform solutions in a self-paced on the job environment
Interface with customers, project managers, and sales team
Development, testing, and commissioning (will require travel to customer sites) of projects Remote and onsite customer service
Review drawings for accuracy
Train end user personnel on system, when required
Travel <30% dependent upon project (domestic and international)
Background profile:
Ability to read and understand electrical schematics for control systems
Experience in PLC logic and programming for Allen Bradley
Ability to commission AC, DC, and Motion drives
Knowledge and experience with drive control systems
Knowledge and/or experience in ACAD, ACAD Electrical, and EPlan
Compensation:
Salary up to $110k
