Network Administrator

We are searching for a Network Administrator in the Baraboo, WI area.

The Role 

  • Designs, implements, monitors, and provides on-going support of IT infrastructure components including but not limited to:  
    • Network Switches  
    • Wireless Networks  
    • Server/Storage interconnects  
    • Firewall / VPN  
    • Structured Cable Management/Installation  
    • Facility Systems: Door Access, Cameras, Emergency Alerting  
    • Telecom Systems: VoIP, Paging, Fax  
    • Power Systems: UPS  
    • IoT Devices: IQMS RT, PLC Network Connectivity  
  • Develops network configuration to segment and isolate devices to improve network response and security.   
  • Monitors device lifecycle and make recommendations to either maintain product support or have access to spare hardware available.  
  • Evaluates services providers for new capabilities or cost saving opportunities. (WAN, Internet, VoIP) 
  • Stays abreast of technology and security best practices to enhance automation and identify continuous improvement opportunities.  
  • Completes daily preventive maintenance tasks on systems/software.  
  • Works closely with project stakeholders to identify and address design needs.   
  • Configures equipment to best practices for redundancy, performance, and security.  
  • Provides technical support to the Helpdesk on escalated requests and issues.  
  • Research, quotes, and submits purchase requests for equipment or services.  
  • Supports all IP services: DHCP, DNS, IP Schemes/Assignment.  
  • Coordinates and communicates any work requiring system downtime with the necessary stakeholders.  
  • Updates IT team on project status and issues. 
  • Responds to service alerts and outages.  
  • Maintains infrastructure documentation.  
  • Provides backup helpdesk coverage and cross trains/collaborates with the System Administrator. 

 

Desired Background 

  • Experience working with Cisco based network technologies in a manufacturing environment. 
  • Knowledge of Cisco IOS, Palo Alto PAN OS, basic network protocols, and MS Office (Preferred Cisco CCNA, Network+, Security+ and Palo Alto certifications). 
  • Participate in the IT On-Call rotation. 
  • Ability to travel between facilities. 
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills. 

 

Location: Baraboo, WI 

Salary to $90k, plus full benefits including health, dental, 401k 

No travel
