The Role
-Collaborate with IT and other stakeholders to develop the vision/roadmap for future
equipment integration, troubleshooting communication issues and identifying
opportunities to leverage machine data
-Develop recommendations and justifications for controls enhancements
-Design and development of Automated Equipment Controls Systems in a Manufacturing
Environment
-Advocate for the equipment/controls design needed in new manufacturing equipment
purchases or to retrofit existing equipment to make it network accessible
-Establish vendor relationships to deliver controls equipment and solutions meeting
engineering and operational goals
-Establish unique ways to utilize controls, sensors and vison to increase quality and
productivity
-Documentation including Schematics, Panel Layouts and Data Flow
-Planned maintenance on controls to meet engineering and operational goals for
automated equipment.
-Use internal and external resources to support unplanned (breakdown) maintenance
activities on controls hardware and systems
-Troubleshooting of Processing controls (Various PID Control including Heat, Pressure,
Speed, etc.)
-Manage control assets, lifecycle, and software/firmware versions
-Assist in supporting the Kepware middleware application and connected devices/tags
Desired Background
PLC Programming experience related to Manufacturing in a data driven environment. Familiarity
with CAD systems, SCADA, Kepware and MS Office components. Familiarity with Allen-Bradley
PLC Programming suite, Motion Controller Programming, Networking and communication
protocols used with industrial controllers (Ethernet/IP, OPC, etc.)
Location: Baraboo, WI
No travel
Salary to $120k, plus full benefits including health, dental, 401k
