Director of Sales

We are searching for a Director of Sales for our client in Sturtevant, WI. 

Our client is a leader in the bulk material handling industry providing experience, knowledge, and dedication to remain at the forefront of the field. They offer an extensive list of standard products, as well as the knowledge and flexibility to quickly design custom projects. Roots date back to the 1940’s, and a 48,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility in Sturtevant, WI was built in the early 2000’s. They have seen explosive growth over the past 5 years and expects to see this trend continue for years to come. 

 

Position Summary: 

The Director of Sales is a key leader responsible for executing the company’s sales strategy to drive growth, expand market presence, and build long-term customer relationships.  

  • Assist VP of Sales with developing and executing comprehensive global sales strategies aligned with organizational goals.  
  • Assist VP of Sales with developing and presenting the company’s annual sales strategy in collaboration with senior management, identifying key revenue opportunities by account, region, product line, salesperson, and Independent Sales Reps.  
  • Oversee negotiations to ensure optimal cost and service levels. 
  • Monitor performance to sales objectives through monthly, quarterly, and annual meetings with leadership. Analyze results against targets, identify causes of shortfalls, and recommend corrective actions to stay on plan. 
  • Prepare detailed cost analytics, profitability reports, and performance metrics to inform decision-making. 
  • Manage the sales team, setting sales goals and reviewing individual and team performance regularly. Support sales staff in developing and executing strategic plans for their territories. Provide ride-along coaching and model customer-centric sales techniques. 
  • Conduct ongoing market research and competitive analysis. Stay up to date on industry trends and best practices. Develop new leads and referrals through proactive networking and relationship-building. 
  • Maintain and grow relationships with customers, OEMs, and Independent Sales Reps. Serve as a senior point of contact to address critical needs and ensure customer satisfaction. 
  • Work closely with production, engineering, and customer service teams to align customer expectations with operational capabilities and ensure a smooth customer experience from sale through delivery. 
  • Oversee quoting, pipeline tracking, and sales forecasting. Provide regular sales forecasts, pipeline updates. 
  • Provide sales reports and performance updates to the executive team. 
  • Represent the company at trade shows, customer visits, and industry events.

 

Desired Background: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Sales, Business, Marketing, or related field. 
  • Sales experience in capital equipment, preferably in packaging machinery or automation. 
  • Understand mechanical layout drawings, electrical schematics, installation manuals, and other manufacturing instructions. 
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time.
